Just half an hour’s drive from our African View Lodge, near the town of Tengeru, is Lake Duluti. The small crater lake is located in a forest reserve that offers a circuit trail around the lake and opportunities for canoeing.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays one of the largest and most colorful markets in northern Tanzania takes place in Tengeru – combined with the canoe trip, it’s a wonderful excursion!

You can also go canoeing on Lake Momella in Arusha National Park. With an experienced guide we paddle through the peaceful landscape. The riverside regions are populated by numerous birds. With a bit of luck you can spot ospreys or monitor lizards.
